UNIDEE Artists in residence arrived in Sanremo’s historic centre, La Pigna on August 24. During their 7-day stay they were hosted by Pigna mon Amour, an association run entirely by volunteers and local residents. The artists were invited to produce work specifically for the La Pigna’s context: a place inhabited by retired people, immigrants and a new wave of young professionals. This interesting mix of newcomers and long-time inhabitants, renovations and historical sites, urban decay and gritty beauty inspired several site-specific interventions:
